Empowerment

Violence against women is endemic in Mexican society. Mexico has one of the highest feminicide rates in the world - more than 10 women are murdered every day. Inspired by the massive women's march in Mexico City in March 2020, PAAR launched the Empowerment collection to remind us of the importance of fighting for women's rights every day. Feminism is a personal banner for Paulina Villalpando, founder of PAAR, and for her team. Each piece is handmade in 14 karat gold or sterling silver, and is customizable with powerful words or short phrases taken from chants and hymns heard in women's marches in Mexico and around the world. The first item of the collection was the Empowerment ring, followed by the release of a pendant, a necklace and a bracelet in 2021.
