Rosario Castellanos is one of the most recognized Mexican writers nationally and internationally. She combined her writing with promotion of Mexican culture, journalism and diplomacy. Her works were indispensable in Mexican literature, since she speaks of two aspects that until then had not been treated in literature or had been worked on with a biased perspective: women and being indigenous.
